PD Dr. Christoph D. Spinner is Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), Senior Doctor Infectious Diseases and Pandemic Officer at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of TUM. In addition to designing and conducting clinical studies, especially in the context of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases, he works together with his colleagues in IT and the hospital’s board of directors to design and implement the hospital’s IT strategy. An essential basis for this is procedural, syntactic and semantic interoperability.

Christoph Spinner studied medicine at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg im Breisgau with stays in Zurich (Switzerland) and Cape Town (South Africa). He is a specialist in internal medicine and infectiologist and holds the venia legendi in internal medicine. In addition to his medical role, Christoph Spinner has been formally active in the Information Technology department as CMIO since 2019. Here, in addition to IT projects as part of the IT strategy, numerous studies are also designed and carried out.
